The COVID-19 disruption has accelerated the efforts of businesses on a global scale and at pace with enhanced communication activity, digital transformation, remote working adjustments and a complete review of strategy amidst the chaos that we have all felt in the last few months. The BBG is no exception to this and the Business Team and Board have been hard at work connecting with members, supporting where we can, engaging at government level and deep diving in to our own proposition in our efforts to survive and thrive on this uncertain journey.
We had already planned to focus on a number of new areas to evolve and build on the work that had taken place in 2019 around enhancing our offering to members and stakeholders with high quality events, fresh and relevant content and access to industry experts. Our plan is to build on this success with a focused approach to the experience we provide to all of our stakeholders and we have actively sought experts to help us get there at Board level. I would therefore like to introduce you to three new BBG Board members; Lisa Skinner of Engine Service Design; David Singleton of Socius Group and Paul Gyles of Meraas. Their roles and experience are detailed below.
I would also like to thank Andrew Robinson, who has been an integral part of the BBG Board for the last three years in his role as BBG Director of Finance and a key architect in our positive turnaround with great governance and support. Andrew’s commitment with the BBG has come to an end as he has decided to focus on other activities, whilst remaining a valued member and supporter of the BBG. On behalf of the Business Team and the Board I would like to thank him for his time and expertise to date.
We are here to support you, our members, through this period of re-opening and recovery and endeavour to continue to share information and opportunities with you.

BBG Predicts Resurgence in Traditional Networking for 2020
We continue to see higher levels of attendance at our networking events month on month, suggesting that businesses are revisiting the opportunity and value in the direct relationship between face to face networking and business success.
The year is fast approaching to a close and the last three months have been at such pace that it’s only when I look back on what we have achieved as a business group that it makes sense as to why the Christmas break will be so well deserved!
