If you are reading this in Dubai, then it would be impossible not to realise that yes, Summer really is here! With the soaring temperatures and suffocating humidity it’s no wonder that so many British expats leave in their 1000s for cooler climates in July and August. Many would confess to believing that business slows down in these months but we can confirm, from our own observations at the BBG, that this is certainly not the case this year!
If you have attended our member networking events throughout the year, you will have experienced the peer to peer sharing of marketing insight and trends across industries in an informal setting in a number of vibrant locations across Dubai. As part of our member led events programme, we do factor in a summer slump on attendance but we keep the events available to support our members consistently throughout the year. We have however been pleasantly surprised this year as we are seeing record numbers of registrations and attendance from existing BBG members and individuals new to Dubai and the BBG.
Speaking with our members at these networking events, we have had a real insight to the intensity of preparation for a busy last quarter of the year with September’s schedule already looking full of strategic planning, collaborations and Expo 2020 planning.
Networking is a business and personal marketing tool that is integral to the life blood of our overall business and marketing strategy. Whilst it can be viewed as a time-consuming activity, networking should be viewed as a dynamic channel to find future business opportunities rather than immediate results.
At the BBG, our aim is to provide our members with greater access to market information and to provide opportunities to learn best practice across industries. Our networking series, free to attend for BBG members, is wonderfully unpredictable and because of its open invitation element, every event attracts a different mix of industries.
If you would like to attend any of our networking events, please email as at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit our events schedule here. We also publish our events in our weekly e-newsletter and if you aren’t already receiving this then please visit the page to subscribe.

BBG Predicts Resurgence in Traditional Networking for 2020
We continue to see higher levels of attendance at our networking events month on month, suggesting that businesses are revisiting the opportunity and value in the direct relationship between face to face networking and business success.
The year is fast approaching to a close and the last three months have been at such pace that it’s only when I look back on what we have achieved as a business group that it makes sense as to why the Christmas break will be so well deserved!
