Prof. Mohamad Kassem, Professor of Digital Construction Management
Newcastle University

Dr. Mohamad Kassem is Professor of Digital Construction Management at Newcastle University within the School of Engineering and the International Director at the International Centre of Connected Construction (IC3). Prior to this role, Dr. Mohamad has been Professor of Digital Construction at Northumbria University, the Lead of the Digital Built Environment research group, the Head of Subject for the Construction Project Management group.

He is an internationally recognised researcher in development and application of digitalisation technologies (BIM, Digital Twin, blockchain, and AI) and processes to address key challenges in construction and engineering projects. His research expertise spans across the boundaries of project, organisation, and market levels. He is also a renowned researcher and consultant in digital transformation at industry level. He has advised several public sector bodies including the European Commission, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and various governments, through strategic digital transformation studies. He received the Scherer Award for outstanding service to the computing community in the context of European Council for Computing in Construction in 2021.

He has published more than 110 outputs in international journals and conferences.

His successful funding awards include multi-million-pound research and enterprise grants, co-funded by various British and international research and innovation councils.


Gary Furphy, Digital Engineering Regional Manager

Gary is Jacobs's Digital Engineering Manager and Solutions & Technology - Digital Delivery Lead in the Middle East. He would classify himself as a Technologist, with two decades of experience across multiple regions and sectors, expertise in Digital Delivery for Design, Construction and Operations, managing information delivery for assets. Leading teams and transforming the way we work in Digital Delivery, creating new Solutions and applying Jacobs Solutions to our project portfolio in the Middle East.

Gary believes in the safe delivery of work irrespective of the type of work; everyone must go home safe. He has a passion for improving the human-built world through better design, construction, asset management and lifecycle via digital processes that enable people to make better decisions.

Prakash Senghani, Director and Head of Digital Delivery

Prakash has diverse experience delivering, designing and managing large scale projects across multiple asset classes in the UK, Asia, and The Middle East. His passion for utilizing technology to add value and tackle some of the challenges faced by the Construction industry have led to a career exploring and implementing the latest innovations across the project lifecycle.

Prakash’s practical knowledge and experience identifying, implementing and evaluating the success of the digital delivery of real estate assets has meant he is considered a thought leader in this space.

Prakash firmly believes that all of these technological advancements will be underpinned with a more data driven approach to the delivery of the built environment.

Prakash’s passion for technology has allowed him to work with a full spectrum of organization from startups to large multinationals advising in digital transformation, technology and innovation.

Mo Barghash, Asset Management Practice Lead - Middle East
Mott MacDonald Middle East

Mo has 15 years of experience that encompass a range of projects from strategic asset management, maintenance management, maturity assessments, implementation roadmap development. He has established himself as a trusted asset management advisor delivering proven results to a diverse client base, including C-suite executives and the Board of Directors across many industries.

Prior to Mott MacDonald, Mo led several transformation initiatives across multiple industries, including Advisory, Rail, Transportation, FMCG and Manufacturing within the public and private sectors. Furthermore, Mo has strong international experience working in Australia and the Middle East.

Mo has an MBA from Melbourne Business School and a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering. His professional endeavours include designing, executing and leading cross-functional asset management transformation in line with ISO 55000 and global best practices to derive stellar financial and operational results. Mo is a Certified Asset Management Assessor CAMA and a member of the IAM and the Australian Asset Management Council. Mo is actively contributing to shaping the asset management industry, including his involvement with the AM Council in Australia and others locally.
