Impacts of Covid-19 and staying connected, from HSBC

with Miles Thornhill, Head of Business Banking, UAE, HSBC

To BBG Dubai and Northern Emirates Members,

I hope you, your families and businesses are safe here in Dubai and back in the UK, as we adjust to the new normal we find ourselves in. This is a challenging time for all of us, globally and in the region, but it is also a time for us to unite together as we collectively beat COVID-19.

We have been partnering with the BBG Group for the past 12 years and we are proud to support UK businesses in UAE. During this time, we know it’s important that we remain more connected than ever. HSBC has been supporting our customers for over 150 years and has weathered many storms, but our values of being open, connected and dependable remain resolute. It is in this spirit that we like to share some of our thought-leadership to help UK businesses navigate this uncertain time.

Staying Connected with HSBC

Every month we will be sharing our latest insights giving you access to topics and solutions that matter, including
HSBC’s Staying Connected Knowledge Hub
HSBC Navigating Business Webinar Series, covering macro, digital, cash management, sectorial and peer-to-peer conversations with some of our global customers who have already been adjusting to Covid-19
Access to HSBC’s Business Banking team
HSBCnet tutorials and resources

A recent webinar saw our trade team discuss how Grand Union, a Hong Kong-based customer, has been navigating and pivoting its supply chain and trade operations, in light of Covid-19. We also covered our latest Covid-19 trade index. A great session that can be replayed here.

Relief that matters

Our Staying Connected hub also details some of the relief measures we have enacted to support businesses during this time. These include digital and lending relief for small to medium size business – these can be viewed here.
When this is over, which it will be, we will have proven once again that we are stronger together.

Thanks to BBG Dubai and Northern Emirates for providing this chance to connect with all of you.

Please stay safe and connected.
