Bla Bla and Live Nation Team Up to Bring REWIND to Dubai

The epic throwback festival, set to take place in the Beach Club with views of picturesque Ain Dubai will feature a lineup of the biggest chart toppers

 

Confirmed for the festival are Tony Hadley, Marc Almond, Heather Small, Heaven 17, Go West, Nick Heyward, Altered Images and T’Pau

Dubai, UAE (19 January, 2023): REWIND, the world’s biggest 80’s and 90’s Festival from the UK is coming to Dubai – and you won’t be disappointed! Taking place at Bla Bla, Saturday March 4th will be a day crammed with entertainment across the whole venue, great food, plenty of bars, performers, DJs, Karaoke, and lots of festival activities.

 

REWIND first took place in England in August 2009. Originally called “80’s Rewind Festival” showcased bands and solo artists that had success in the 1980’s. REWIND is known for a high-energy vibe, loads of activities and performances from musical legends, that deliver on the dreams of first-time goers and seasoned spectators.

 

The line-up of musical legends performing on the main stage outside in the Beach Club includes some of the biggest chart toppers, taking you back to the hits you grew up with and love.

Festival goers will have the run of Bla Bla: dip in the pool while watching these iconic artists, grab some food at the restaurant, listen to DJs in The Tent or have a go at Karaoke in the Back Room. There will be plenty to keep everyone entertained all day and night.

 

Doors open at 12 noon.

 

Tickets for all-day entry are available from Ticketmaster.ae from 12 pm on Friday 20th January.

Tony Hadley

Tony Hadley fronted 80s New Romantic band Spandau Ballet, earning himself the accolade of being one of pop music’s greatest vocalists. The band had numerous chart-topping singles and albums including “True” and “Gold”. Tony now performs solo with his ‘Fabulous TH Band’ at concerts and festivals all over the world.

 

Marc Almond

Marc Almond is an internationally acclaimed and successful artist. He has sold over 30 million records worldwide and is an icon and influence to a generation of musicians. Together with David Ball, he formed the ‘electro duo’ Soft Cell in 1979 and they had a string of number one hits including “Tainted Love”, “Where Did Our Love Go?” and “Say Hello, Wave Goodbye”. As a solo artist Marc released a dozen albums, collaborated with many diverse artists and occasionally still works in electro Dance music. Solo hits include” Something’s Gotten Hold of My Heart”, “The Days of Pearly Spencer” and “Tears Run Rings”.

 

Heather Small

As part of M People, with hits such as “Moving on Up”, “One Night in Heaven” and “Search for The Hero” achieving massive worldwide success, Heather Small became one of the seminal British voices of the 1990s. Heather has also had great success with two solo albums, and the title track of one of them, “Proud”, has become the soundtrack to a number of special events including the London 2012 Olympic bid and England’s victory at the Rugby World Cup.

 

Heaven 17

An electronic synth pop and New Wave band from Sheffield, Heaven 17 was formed by some of the ex-members of The Human League. They produced a string of hit singles and albums but are probably best remembered for the song “Temptation”. Other hits include “Let Me Go”, “Come Live with Me”, Crushed by the Wheels of Industry and “(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang”.

 

Go West

Peter Cox and Richard Drummie’s debut single as the dance pop duo Go West was released in 1985. “We Close Our Eyes” reached number 5 in the UK charts and was followed by three further UK top 10 hits - “Call Me”, “Goodbye Girl” and “Don’t Look Down”. Their biggest hit though was “King of Wishful Thinking” from the Pretty Woman soundtrack. The band have played live around the world continuously since their inception and have earned their reputation as an outstanding, exciting live act.

 

Nick Heyward

Formerly lead singer and songwriter for Haircut One Hundred (whose hits included “Love Plus One”, “Fantastic Day” and “Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)”), Nick has had a successful solo career ever since. Top 10 singles include “Whistle Down The Wind”, “Blue Hat For A Blue Day” and “Kite”.

 

Altered Images

Clare Grogan and her band Altered Images have had worldwide success selling millions of chart-topping records. Classics include “Happy Birthday”, “I Could Be Happy” and “Don’t Talk To Me About Love”. Altered Images have been touring for the past two decades, most recently with The Human League.

 

T’pau

Lead vocalist, Carol Decker with the band T’pau burst onto the music scene in 1987 with the hit “Heart and Soul” reaching No.4 in both the UK & US charts. This was followed by “China In Your Hand” which stayed at No. 1 for 5 weeks – the longest serving No. 1 of the year. T’pau are now a regular fixture on the Festival and Arena circuit.
