Meet New Member British Window Cleaner Noel Meehan!

Providing a little piece of the UK to expats in the UAE - Noel Meehan is the owner of The Window Cleaner - a British owned and run commercial and residential window cleaning business using the purest filtered water and providing a high class clean!

How long have you been in Dubai and what brought you here?

I’ve been in Dubai for around 4 years now. We moved when my wife got took a position as a head of primary in one of the British schools. We had previously dotted around the globe including a few years over in Qatar. Dubai was a frequent trip whilst there so it was just a matter of time before we made the move!

How long have you had your business for?

We’re now in our second year as a business here in the UAE.

What does a typical day look like?

We begin our days around 6.30am most days. We try and get out early to enjoy the ‘cooler’ mornings. I collect the guys who work alongside me and we arrive onsite at our first jobs around 7.30am

We typically follow normal working hours with the only exception being some of our commercial work which can sometimes be through the night.

Who are your ideal clients and how can the BBG help you build your business?

At the window Cleaner everyone is a customer really. Anyone with 4 walls and some dirty windows! We clean residential properties, universiities, office blocks etc

I’d say the majority of our customers are fellow Brits or people recommended through them. Most of the work we do comes through word of mouth in each community. I wanted to create a business that resembled something we were all used to back home. The British business group was a wonderful way to meet likeminded people who were or are in similar positions to myself. Leaning on the expertise of people who have been here, seen it and done it really is essential for a company like ours. The chance to network often with other businesses and to even just meet other people generally is invaluable. From the first event I attended I really did feel that sense of community and a genuine feeling that everyone wanted to help each other succeed. Running a business in Dubai is challenging and being able to bounce ideas or concerns off others who have been in similar positions really does help.  We hope to take the next step and grow significantly over the next year or so and I genuinely believe that the British Business Group will be a wonderful support.
