Update from British Centres for Business

BCB November: let?s get physical

Good Morning

The announcement on 12th November that the British government was adding the UAE to its ‘travel corridor’ list is enormously positive news and we’ve already seen a surge of UK companies coming out to develop business as a result. As ever, please do keep an eye on formal guidance from your airline, insurance company and the FCDO but this is a game-changer for the medium term and a very welcome fillip for bilateral trade, investment & tourism.

As we outline below, the GITEX tech trade show happening early next month is one of a small but growing number of exhibitions that are taking place in physical form in the UAE and we’re looking forward to seeing another crop of quality UK tech companies coming out this year. The undoubted ‘star of the show’ will be the first ever Israeli delegation & companies to be present for this or any other such event in the UAE.

If you are coming to the UAE in the coming months, do also remember that there’s more to the country than just Dubai. We encourage you to visit the other emirates and we can also help you develop your business interests in all seven too!

Finally, be aware that next week sees a three day public holiday in the UAE (1st – 3rd December) and, anecdotally, it also sounds like a lot of people are taking a lot of leave in December – use it or lose it before the year-end – so make sure you have your meetings confirmed before you travel.

Regards
Joe
