The University of Manchester launches admissions for the Global Part-time MBA for working professionals in the Middle East, with supporting scholarships

The University of Manchester Middle East Centre has launched admissions for the Alliance Manchester Business School?s Global Part-time MBA, a blended learning programme for working professionals in the region.

The Middle East Centre is currently offering student scholarships for all applicants until May 28 for the July intake – the school has two intakes each year, January and July. The Centre enrolled over 80 new MBA students in the January 2020 intake.

The Financial Times has ranked Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) 5th in the UK, 11th in Europe and 45th in the world in its annual ranking of the world’s best MBAs. The two-year Manchester Global Part-time MBA was recognised as the ‘Best MBA Programme’* at the Forbes Middle East Higher Education Awards 2019,

The Middle East Centre has supported more than 2,700 part-time MBA students based in the region and has graduated more than 1,700 students since opening in Dubai Knowledge Park in 2006, making it the largest and fastest growing centre in the University’s international network. The part-time MBA study option leads to the award of the internationally recognised Manchester MBA degree by the University of Manchester.

The Manchester two-year Global Part-time MBA programme is structured around four practical themes - Management in Practice; Value Creation in Business; Tailoring Your Journey; Professional Skills for Business. Students can also further personalise the MBA programme with a range of electives to suit specific goals and interests, and there are further options to accelerate the programme to 18 months. The part-time MBA programme provides as much face to face time with faculty as most full-time MBA programmes, with workshops hosted in Dubai.

Xavier Duran, Director of MBA Programmes at Alliance Manchester Business School, believes this could be the right time for candidates to consider starting their MBA: “MBA applications tend to rise in difficult economic periods and of course we are in a time of global disruption. Employers are increasingly looking for versatile executives with a global outlook and able to navigate uncertainty. Our MBA students develop skills in five key areas – communications, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and confidence. This demanding general management qualification is one way of acquiring the skills not only to survive but to thrive, in future.”

The blended learning Global Part-time MBA is a very demanding and transformational academic programme supported by networking events, online careers seminars, employability sessions, speaker events, and alumni networking.

Randa Bessiso, Director - Middle East at The University of Manchester, added: “The flexibility of our blended learning MBA programme continues to attract students in the region and we welcomed more than 80 new students in our latest intake, in January 2020. MBA candidates are generally seeking to accelerate their career, change industry or move to a more entrepreneurial path. All our students are experienced working professionals and are often working in senior roles. Many of them are highly qualified professional women. We support all our students through their transformational MBA experience, along with professional networking opportunities and careers service support. Given the current disruption to economies around the world and the region, we are pleased to be able to offer a scholarship option to successful applicants, for the July intake.”

The University of Manchester focuses on teaching, research and social responsibility and reached its highest-ever position in the QS World University Rankings 2019, which now lists Manchester as the world’s 27th best university. QS university league tables also position the University at 6th in the UK and 8th in Europe. The University of Manchester was awarded a 5-star rating by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai’s first higher education classification, in 2019.
