About the Speakers:

Carissa Campeotto is a social entrepreneur and co-founder of Trendi, a startup that aims to reduce food waste by connecting restaurants and cafes with customers through a mobile app. Carissa has a background in hospitality and food service, with over 15 years of experience working in the industry. She has a passion for sustainability and a commitment to making a positive impact on the world.

Carissa holds a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management from Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. She has also completed additional training in sustainability and entrepreneurship. Prior to starting Trendi, Carissa worked as a food and beverage manager for several hotels and restaurants, where she became increasingly concerned about the amount of food waste generated by the industry.

Through Trendi, Carissa and her co-founder are working to address this issue by providing a platform for restaurants and cafes to sell excess food at a discount, rather than throwing it away. This not only helps to reduce food waste, but also provides affordable meals for customers and additional revenue for businesses.

With a background in engineering, Ghita has extensive experience in food processing, packaging, and quality control. She has also worked in various roles in the food industry, including as a food safety consultant, research engineer, and technical director.

Donna Glasper is the co-founder and COO of Herogo, MENA's first food tech platform fighting food waste and loss while making food more affordable. With over 20 years of leadership experience in the HoReCa sector, where she has built and grown some of the world's most well-known brands, Donna has witnessed food waste firsthand and set about enabling technology and innovative solutions to tackle this problem.
