Recent incidents have demonstrated again that one of the
worst, and scariest things that can happen at home, is a fire. Indeed whether
at home or at a place of work, a fire has the potential to destroy possessions
and wreak havoc, potentially turning the property and everything in it to
ashes.
The recent fire at the Torch Tower in Dubai Marina, and
Tamweel Tower in JLT caused a great deal of damage to property and possessions,
resulted in headlines around the world and asked a great deal of questions as
to who is responsible for not only fire prevention, but also for what happens
after an incident like this.
In this breakfast seminar, sponsored by BBG platinum
sponsor AIG, D. Stuart McCreadie a professional qualified loss control engineer
gave his insights into the causes of fire and the effect it has to a home.
Stuart also explained the current regulations that exist within the UAE
regarding fire exposure and UAE fire statistics and how these differ from other
developed countries.
In his presentation, Stuart also covered the following:
•Differences between personal and commercial properties.
•UAE building design and materials used.
•Residential high-rise vulnerability.
•A short video on combustible cladding.
•How to best protect your personal property.
