In an often misunderstood business discipline, facility managers are responsible for the management of services and processes that support the core business of an organisation. In short, they ensure that an organisation has the most suitable working environment for its employees and their activities.

FM’s relationship to the human resources, real estate and information technology functions of an enterprise has increased and at the same time, FM technology has dramatically changed adding value to the function.

In our previous Focus Breakfast event Imran Akram, Director of fm24, explored FM technology from the facility manager’s perspective. Imran discussed the following:

How does FM technology provide value to the organisation in terms of interoperability, reorganisation and culture?

What are challenges to FM technology?

How has FM technology has developed over the years and why must trends in FM, business and technology align?
