Jonathon Davidson
I have been in Dubai since 1998 and have been an active member of the BBG since 2010 during which time I have held the Board Positions of Vice Chairman and Chairman as well as acting on an interim basis as Legal and Secretariat. During my tenure, the Group grew and improved its status as the gold standard business group of the region attracting many new members and high profile international speakers. I am a lawyer and founded my Law Firm, Davidson & Co in 2008 and we represent larger segments of the SME community in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. I have remained an active member of the BBG and currently lead the Owner Manager Group, a new special interest sub-group of the Group connecting local owner managed businesses to UK government, the Embassy and incoming commercial interest looking for mentoring and guidance. I have seen the group flourish under the guidance of the current GM, office members and Board of Directors under the guidance of JMSV. I am keen, and now have the capacity, to take a more formal role again and contribute my experience and time. The return of historical Board Members to the Group is unusual (JMSV has taken the lead in this respect) and I hope to be able to contribute my collegiality, new ideas, connectivity and enthusiasm. I am excited by the Group’s future and look forward to being part of it, hopefully in the role of Legal & Secretariat.
