As this message goes out, many of us will be reflecting on the last few weeks of Ramadan and looking forward to spending valuable time with family, friends and loved ones to celebrate the special Eid break together.
There used to be a time when Ramadan signalled a slowdown in business and productivity. As a result, the expat community generally used to down tools and disappear to foreign climes, leaving the city quiet and fairly empty.
There is nothing like a really good AGM and celebratory luncheon to lift the spirits of the British business community. Over a hundred members, guests and friends descended on Jumeirah Creekside Hotel (our thanks again to our platinum sponsor, Jumeirah, for all of their support) to hear the report for the 2017/18 term from me as incumbent Chair and the Committee.
This week’s post is probably hurtling out of our new and improved communications system (have you checked out the new website yet?), just as we have finished the formal reporting of our AGM and are sitting down to a celebratory lunch with members, special guests and friends at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel.
It’s my favourite expression these days, meaning “ThereIn Lies The Opportunity…”
I was honoured to represent BBG Dubai & Northern Emirates, participating in the UAE UK Business Council’s 13th gathering in London last week.
