I shared some views on ‘family’ last week and the importance of our group - not just from a business perspective - in remembering and helping our friends and peers who may not be that fortunate in having theirs nearby.
Over the years – particularly from a social perspective – I have often heard the British Business Group Dubai & Northern Emirates being described as a ‘family’.
In the context of human society, a family (from the Latin: familia) is a group of people related either by consanguinity (by recognised birth), affinity (by marriage or other relationship), or co-residence (as implied by the etymology of the English word ‘family’).
Those of you that have been dedicated in following my weekly ramblings will know that a key focus for our Group has been to strengthen and ‘press the re-set button’ on the relationship between BBG and our British Embassy HMG hosts in the UAE.
View from the Chair - A warm Great British welcome…
With his feet firmly under the HMCG desk and having been formally presented to his new Diplomatic post, the BBG Dubai & Northern Emirates is pleased to warmly welcome Andrew Jackson to his new post of Her Majesty’s Consul General, at the British Embassy in Dubai.
As a professionally organised and managed business group that works hard to enable our members to succeed, we have taken an abundance of advice in relation to how we communicate with you, our members, and all stakeholders of the BBG, Dubai & Northern Emirates, in relation to new data protection legislation [GDPR].
