Of course, as with any membership group, you can only get out what you put in; and we’re here to help you get as much out of your membership as you can!
So, how can you get the most out of your BBG membership?
For a start:
Make sure your contact information and key words are always up-to-date. If members can’t find you, you can’t work together.
Make sure you upload a photograph. People like working with people and a photograph is a lot more welcoming and personal than the grey box we’ll have to put in place of your profile photo if you don’t upload one.
If you are a company nominee and have a colleague who keeps your diary updated for you, please put that person’s email address instead of yours and we will send all communications to that person, including event invitations and membership renewal reminders.
Stay in touch with your Committee, Operations Team, and Focus Chairs to share your constructive feedback and suggestions about what we do and how we do it.
Come to events. Although it sounds basic, we appreciate that it is difficult to do. We host events at both the DIFC and Marina ends of Dubai in an effort to make it as convenient as possible for you to attend events and build the relationships you want to build.
Then, of course, there's 1+2=3
Brand exposure – As a BBG member, you are able to promote your organisation and the products or services you offer via our social media channels, newsletter and weekly update
Share news and updates on BBG social media – We will happily share your messages to the BBG membership and wider Dubai community on our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube). We do ask for a minimum two weeks’ notice from you, please.
Weekly roundup – Your upcoming events, new member offers, urgent announcements (eg: recruitment for roles within your organization) can always be included in our weekly roundup. The deadline for submission of information for inclusion is every Wednesday as the roundup is sent out every Thursday.
Building a strong, influential network – As a member, you are welcome to attend a large number of industry and sector specific gatherings at preferential rates each year as well as enjoy access to various exclusive member-only experiences and events such as lunches with British diplomats, UK and UAE government officials, and other prominent individuals.
New ‘Business Member’ incentive: As of Monday 1 January 2018, all staff of BBG Business Member companies are able to attend our events at the preferential member rate. There is a booking email address specifically for these individuals (firstname.lastname@example.org) so please share it with them and they can begin attending events with you or on your behalf immediately.
Generate hot leads – 1+2=3 By taking us up on our offers of support and coming to meetings to build your network, you will generate business. That being said, we’re ready to do more: in addition to social media posts, there is a dedicated section of our website where all members can promote their products and services to each other by offering exclusive, high quality, high value member offers (#member4member).
Give and receive: the more members who offer each other benefits that cannot be found anywhere else, the more likely you all are to benefit from each other’s patronage and ‘word of mouth’ marketing which has been proven to be the most effective form of marketing. Send details of your member offer to email@example.com and we will work with you to promote it.
