There's not long to go now until the AGM, which is also the deadline for casting your votes to elect your BBG Chairman and CEO for 2017/2018. If you have not already done so, I urge you cast your vote whether online or by paper ballot to decide on who you want to head the group for the next 12 months. With the increased influence of social media, I also urge you to connect with us online through our various social media platforms so that you can read and take part in the discussions.
On a different note your Deputy Chairman and COO, Jonathan
Macpherson, has just finished a meeting with the Chairman of the Cambridge
Chambers to finalise an LOI between them and us for mutual benefit. You can
read more about it on our LinkedIn group.
I would also like to take a moment to clarify something with regards to the BBG's status: we are a not-for-profit organisation which is not the same as a charity. The difference is that we are only allowed legally to retain a certain percentage of our profits unlike a LLC company. It has been a difficult year with social, economic and financial issues being a concern for everyone in the community. The BBG is no different from other commercial organisations and business groups in that we need to constantly be aware of our surroundings and changes in social and commercial behaviour.
Chairman or not after the AGM, I would like to thank all of you who have supported me and my ideas and all of my opposition for making me think outside of the box. The people around me in the office and the committee have not always agreed with me and I them but I do believe they have done so in the best interests of the BBG and not for any other reasons.
