The Taaleem Group of Schools has announced that, commencing 31st August 2019, Rosamund (Ros) Marshall, CEO, will be leaving Taaleem, to be replaced by Mr. Alan Williamson, who previously held the position of CEO of Kings’ Education.
Taaleem is the second largest provider of premium education in the UAE.
Ros takes up his post this month and will be at the helm for the next stage of the company’s journey, with 13 schools to operate serving 12,000 students, 900 teachers and a total staff of almost 1,700 from September this year.
A spokesperson for Taaleem stated that “Alan brings with him a wealth of experience, as a teacher, headmaster and superintendent of schools. His rise within the ranks at Kings’ Education has been impressive, from Principal, to Chief Education Officer, to his last role of CEO. We are fortunate to have found someone of Alan’s caliber and experience to lead Taaleem and to continue to build on Ros’s legacy. Alan joins Taaleem with the reputation of being an education visionary with a proven track record of achievement. He is a strong communicator who understands deeply that our students and their welfare is our number one priority, and that our family of staff is our most precious resource.”
Mr. Alan Williamson said on his appointment “I am delighted to be joining Taaleem, their reputation is fantastic, in particular among the Dubai and Abu Dhabi community. One of the things I was aware of from my dealings with regulators was the high esteem in which Taaleem is held. This applied to the schools, the people within the schools and the corporate organisation. I’ve massive respect for what Ros has achieved. Ros has also been the face of Taaleem during her tenure. Her ever present, high media profile, in the press, on broadcasts, global seminars and partnerships with prestigious events such as The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature and Dubai Performing Arts has brought much kudos to the company. These strategic partnerships have created many unique opportunities for students in the UAE to discover and develop their talents.
The company is at a really exciting point in its growth, with the development of a second campus in Abu Dhabi for Raha International School, due to open in 2020. We also have new and exciting projects and partnerships in the pipeline. In this economic environment, how many other companies have such ambitious expansion plans and accompanying sound balance sheets?”
Taaleem was founded in 2004 in Dubai and is one of the largest education providers in the United Arab Emirates. Their main activity is the development and management of high-quality early childhood, primary and secondary schools in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Taaleem, which means 'education' in Arabic, is committed to inspiring students helping them to identify and develop their passions and talents. They also only recruit the best international teachers who are capable of delivering their range of international curricula in a creative and highly engaging manner.
