Special Olympics World Games are coming to the MENA region for the first time, and the Games will be held in Abu Dhabi next March, 2019. It’s the world’s largest humanitarian and sports event and celebrates the skills, talents and sports achievements of athletes with intellectual disabilities.
In order to execute this event, approximately 20,000 volunteers are needed.
You are invited to join BBG Abu Dhabi for a coffee morning briefing, held at the Special Olympics World Games head-quarters, to hear how you can support by volunteering as an individual, or how you can volunteer your staff teams by registering your business as an entity.
The British Embassy have set an ambitious target for 2,019 British Nationals to assist the Games in some way or another, and we would like to encourage members of the British Business Group to attend this briefing to understand how you, and your company, can get involved.
This is an opportunity for a Q & A with the Special Olympics World Games organisers to understand the logistics of planning you need to put in place for your staff to volunteer at the Games.
Effective inclusion of people with determination is an integral part of key national and local strategies such as the UAE Vision 2021 and Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.
More than 7,000 athletes from over 170 nations will come to the UAE to compete in 24 different sports, and approximately 130 athletes will represent Team Great Britain.
